How come you used the DRV8313 and not the DRV8316 as per Anton’s latest revision?
I didn’t see that message or know about that chip. The 5x better RDSON sounds attractive! Next iteration I’ll do that. So for now these are relatively low-current.
I looked at the datasheets and it looks more like 2.5-3x lower (0.25 vs 0.095).
The datasheets specify them in different ways. One specifies two RDSON resistances on the order of 0.25 separately and the other specifies 100mOhm for both together.
That last one is “easier” as all current flowing through a high-side mosfet will eventually come back and also flow through the lowside as well. So if you have 100mOhm of total resistance and want to use 2A, you can calculate 2A x 100mOhm = 200mV. So power loss is 2A x 200mV = 400mW. For the 8313 datsheet you first have to add up the resistances.
Really interesting to know, thanks.
I could definitely use these, sent email, via bitwizard.nl
Peepo got his. two left. (I forgot to mention: 1 per person, which surprised peepo a bit.)
Any chance I could get one?
You really need to reply to the PM I sent or figure out my email like peepo did. I can’t start guessing your shipping address.
The DM feature in discourse forum can be a bit hard to find. If you click on your user icon at the top-right and then on the “envelope” icon in the menu that opens you will see your DMs.
To send a new DM just tap on a user and tap the “Message” button in the popup.
Is there a chance you have one left?
Yup! Felipe gave up trying to send me his address….
