Position Sensing with Gear Reduction

I am trying to run FOC on a Robomaster M2006 BLDC motor (https://rm-static.djicdn.com/tem/17348/RM%20M2006%20P36直流无刷减速电机使用说明.pdf) that has a 36:1 gear reduction on it. I am measuring position before the gear reduction through a magnet sensor. I was wondering if this would affect calibration or FOC operation in any way since I am running into some strong problems involving motor vibrations and occasional sensor alignment and if it is, how do I account for the gear reduction without having to reposition my sensor completely (unless that’s the only way)

Link led me to a dead page that I do not have access to:

This is the page that you wanted us to view?

Position sensor should be before the gear ratio.

Are these hall sensors or what type of sensor do you have?

Yes that is the page I was trying to link. I am using AMS AS147u magnetic SPI sensors to measure position.
