ESP32 + simpleFOCmini v1.0 + 2804 220KV motor not spinning only twitching

hello,

as the title suggests, i can’t get my motor to spin in open loop control using the open loop example from the arduino library. at higher speeds it just kinda vibrates and at lower speeds it completes about an eight of a turn before going back in the other direction. I checked with my oscilloscope and there are in fact PWM signals coming out of the esp32, and out of the driver and reaching the motor on all three phases. I tried various speeds and max voltages but could not get it to spin.

Definitely sounds like one motor wire disconnected. Unplug the motor from the driver and check resistance between each pair of wires to see if one of them has a bad solder joint to the windings (or possibly at the wye termination). You could also try connecting two of the wires to the driver at a time to see if they all do the same turn and jump back behavior, or if two combos don’t move at all.
