With TMR sensors like Infineons TLE5501 or NVEs AAT003 it should be possible to make pecise off-axis angular position estimation. Using a µC with a high bandwidth ADC should be fast enough.

How would you use them off-axis?
I believe the MagAlpha / MPS sensors, some of them have off-axis mounting options, but are less accurate in that configuration.
Capacitative and inductive sensors are available in off-axis versions.
