SimpleFocMini and textured haptic feedback control

I have a question for the experts. Is it possible to do textured haptic feedback control with the SimpleFocMini driver board without current sense? The application is similar to the smart knob by Scott Baez using GM3506 Gimbal Motor with 5.6 ohms coil resistance. If not, measuring summed up current at ground or Vcc using current sense boards available on AliExpress can be used or not.

I think you can do it without current sensing… controlling such a motor with just voltage should be ok, and you can do haptic textures based on the position sensor…
