Pre-Charge Component Selection Opinion

Has anyone used this component for precharge? I like the form factor.

I am putting together a small board with a contactor and fuse.

When the battery is “powered on” voltage will be presented at the contactor. The PLC will complete its self check, then wait 3 seconds, close the contactor. I will add sense lines to measure fuse integrity, shorted contactor, as well as measure actual voltage prior to closing the contactor in the event the precharge resitor was to fail.

The screw terminals are interesting as they allow for decent amperage… the negative is you must rely on proper torque of a screw/bolt…

This is very similar to what is in the back of my HAAS CNC Mill in the VECTOR DRIVE.

Here is a rough 3d Representation (traces not routed). Gives an idea of the contactor and fuse, and precharge resistor as described above.

I also began incoporating a HV LED that will light whenever the voltage is above 5v.
