newbieQ: gimbal wires, which is which?

my gimbal motor documentation provides no information on which wire is which phase…

is there a process i can follow (or measurements i can take) to determine which is a, b, c (u,v,w)?

thanks!

It does not matter

The motor has a symmetrical construction, so you can use any wire for any phase, A, B, C. The effect of switching any two of the wires is that the motor will change the “positive” direction compared to beforehand.

(That’s kind of similar to a simple DC motor, which only has 2 phases, but it also does not matter which is positive and which is negative. Switching them round changes the direction.)

I do wonder if there is a convention, though.
