Moving to SimpleFOC

I want to start working on Simple FOC hardware and software, can i order boards both which can support 48V, 1KW BLDC motors? Please suggest.

Hi @FOCLearner,

The SimpleFOC hardware is (so far) for much lower power levels. For 1kW at 48V you’re looking for a controller that can handle 20A and more.

One possibility might be the DRV8302 boards you can find on AliExpress, like this one: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/4000126430773.html

With this you can use any MCU board of your choice.

For higher power levels you can also find clones of older ODrive and VESC hardware, like this: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005007877625176.html

These all have STM32 processors and can run SimpleFOC.
