I just came across an interesting controller board which seems perfect board for Hoverboard motors. It claims to be 300W. Input voltage 8-58 VDC and 32A peak or 16A continuous current. They claim it takes hall sensors which is found in many hoverboard motors as feedback.
It comes with arduino compatible software. So it looks like ready to use complete hardware/software FOC solution.
