# Newbie struggling with simpleFOC on platformio requesting guidance

Trying to design a stepper motor based on esp32 running simplefoc with mt6816 sensor for a constant tension (constant torque). I tried the arduino ide and the compiles seem to be sooooo slow. Tried moving to platformio and after several days of trying (it was a nightmare) decided to cut loses and move back to arduino. Any guidance on this? Platformio seems like a good thing but it does not seem to play with simpleFOC and simpleFOCDrivers…what am I missing. TIA.
