# Hall Effect current sensors for inline current sensing?

The device is mounted on a PCB. Perhaps they tried to hide the markings, because they are weak. But with the right lighting, you can see them, as you see here:

I see ACS758 LCB-050B  
I tried to obtain some characteristic regarding output voltage and current. This is what I got:

The typical sensitivity is 40 mV/A, but this device seems to have 57 mV/A.

I use a very similar 100A version of this sensor (ACS770) on a simple board I made a while ago, I use it to read battery charge/discharge current on an old truck. It had an ammeter in the dash and those like to burn garages to the ground when the high current wiring eventually shorts on the firewall. I made another little board with a stepper needle gauge from a GM vehicle instead, so the high current run could be made like a modern vehicle instead. I can confirm it does output 1/2VCC like it should, and it was very expensive from digikey!
